Description
The VoIP Unit with standard SIP over IP protocol for the management of radio communications is in fact an IP Gateway, which acts as a Full IP data interface and allows Audio connections in VoIP.
General Features
- The IP-Unit is interfaced to the IP radio, with an Ethernet connection, while it is inserted on the TDMA BUS of the Interfonic System.
- The VoIP call is set up and managed by the IP-Unit; once the call is established, the voice session is accessible by the desired operator, with the same engagement procedures as a radio carrier.
- The IP-Unit, seen as an external unit to the Intercom System, is considered as a VoIP Client in standard SIP 2.0, of which it also adopts the signaling methods to establish a VoIP call.
- The exchange of data-voice packets in the VoIP session takes place with RTP protocol.
- Usable codecs G.711, GSM, G.726, G.723, G.729.
- The IP-Unit allows to manage 2 simultaneous VoIP connections.
- Using the Intercom System retransmission service, a user of a Legacy radio link can be put into conversation with a user of a VoIP audio session.
