How we innovate

Projects

ARMETISS is a project aimed at developing smart soldier systems in the EU. The project ambitions to develop smart clothes and equipment that integrate complementary functions based on EU end-users’ needs and textile-based advanced technologies. ARMETISS will build upon previous EU-funded projects, such as GOSSRA, ACHILE, and STILE, to enhance soldier protection, comfort, and operational capabilities.

LARIMART is proud to be part of the ARMETISS consortium, thus having the opportunity to leverage collective expertise, to drive innovation and to deliver cutting-edge solutions for soldier protection and system efficiency. Drawing on its sound experience from projects aimed at the standardisation of the European soldier system – such as STASS, GOSSRA, and ACHILE – Larimart will help define system requirements and capabilities, also selecting and analysing technologies for energy distribution, human-machine interfaces (HMI), personal protective equipment monitoring, among others. Promising technologies will be assessed taking into account their readiness level, compliance with standards, and interoperability, also considering factors like recycling, circularity, sustainability, and logistic footprint wherever possible.

As a key contributor across all work packages, Larimart will closely work with partners to optimize soldier systems, in relation to personal protection equipment. This includes analysing the placement of devices, sensors, and peripherals to minimize size, weight, and power consumption. In addition, challenges related to comfort, and energy distribution and management will be addressed, ensuring optimal integration into soldier equipment.
Larimart will also play a critical role in the design and integration of wearable modules, as well as in prototyping and testing.
